Overland Park and other jurisdictions require the inspection of construction site erosion control measures after any rainfall event where the rainfall depth equals or exceeds 0.5 inches. This notification service will send a reminder to the email address entered below whenever one or more of the rain gages in the StormWATCH network records that amount in a 24 hour period ending at 4:00 AM. There is no charge for the service, and the City of Overland Park will not use the emails submitted for any other purpose, nor will it distribute the list of emails. All emails will originate from StormWATCH (stormwatch@opkansas.org).

This is an automated system that utilizes automated weather sensors. Overland Park City staff will not verify the accuracy of the information reported before sending notification emails. Users should not use this information as the sole source of information for scheduling their erosion control measures. It is possible that the system may on occasion incorrectly report a rainfall event as a result of rain gage or other system malfunctions. The City does not guarantee the accuracy nor timeliness of the data.
